The 71600-008LF is an AMPHENOL IDC connector designed to create fast and repeatable wire-to-board connections using flat ribbon cable.
In practice, it is a “wiring” solution when you want to terminate a flat cable neatly and safely, without stripping and crimping individual wires: termination is done by insulation displacement (IDC).
