Wholesale Adapters

Errebishop is a leading company in the wholesale of adapters and plugs with different prices and functions.

With over twenty years of experience in the field, in addition to dealing with the distribution of electrical equipment, it also manufactures, for the same sector, components of more common use, including adapters and plugs, managing the wholesale.

The wholesale of adapters includes articles useful for both civil and industrial installation.

Our suppliers are some of the most reliable and important manufacturers in the world, so we can guarantee our customers excellent prices, competitive for both small and large quantities.

All items are manufactured in full compliance with safety standards according to their intended use and are available in a wide range of variants.

What are Adapters

In general, an adapter is any tool that allows two devices with different characteristics to be connected together.

In the context of spinology, adapters are mobile devices consisting of a plug and one or more sockets (i.e. plug housings).

An adapter is a very useful item and generally fulfils two main functions:

It allows a plug to be connected to an outlet, even if it has different characteristics from the plug.
It allows a socket to receive and supply power to several plugs, and to use several electrical appliances at the same time.

Adapters are not all the same, but change according to specific characteristics. They are widely used in many areas, including the home and are real everyday items.

However, it should never be forgotten that these items relate to the electrical field and must therefore be used with care to avoid dangerous situations.

It is always advisable to use reliable and specialised dealers: unsafe adapters can cause damage such as shocks or, in the worst case, fires due to a short circuit.

For the same reason, both overloading adapters in a single socket and DIY repair of adapters, sockets and plugs should be avoided if you do not have the appropriate skills.

How Adapters Work

The primary function of adapters, as the word itself suggests, is to adapt a plug and make it compatible with a socket.

It is often the case that we need to use an adapter in our daily operations, but we seldom think about how these objects work.

In order to understand how adapters work, we must first understand how the electrical current flows from the fixed socket to an electrical appliance, plant or equipment.

The electrical current circulating in a system, whether in a domestic or other environment, is a so-called alternating current, consisting of a flow of electrical charges.

For example, as soon as we insert the plug of an electrical appliance into an electrical socket, a flow of current starts to circulate inside the plug, which also extends to the wire and starts the appliance up.

However, it may be necessary to connect more than one plug to the same socket, or to plug in a plug that is not compatible with the socket due to its shape and/or size (sockets may vary depending on the country of manufacture, so when travelling it is advisable to check the type of plug supported by the country you are visiting).

Adaptors, therefore, allow the transfer of current from the socket to one or more plugs, which can take place, in the case of safe and compliant adapters, safely and without interruption.

Areas of use of the adapters

Listing all the areas of use of adapters could be a very difficult task.

In fact, it could be argued, with a few exceptions, that almost all the environments we frequent every day and where power is needed, are environments where we could use adapters.

Let us try to list the most common ones below.

  • Domestic environment
Household appliances, computers, electronic devices... There are many appliances in the home that require electricity to operate (or recharge).
  • Work environment
Telephones, PCs, modems, printers are all devices that need a power connection. Many times, because they are manufactured in countries other than Italy, they may have a non-compatible socket, or they may need to be fitted with several plugs in a single socket.
  • Entertainment
Concerts, exhibitions and theatrical performances could not be organised without electronic devices. These, often in large numbers, need adapters to function properly.
  • Travelling Sockets can vary depending on the country in which they are manufactured. The world's existing electrical sockets are numerous and differ in terms of the number of holes where the plug can be plugged in and the voltage (i.e. electrical voltage). Having the right adapter is essential for using devices and appliances and it is very important to know what kind of sockets you will find on your next trip.
  • Medical exceptions In the medical field it is very difficult to run into the use of adapters, especially multiple adapters: electro-medical devices should be plugged directly into the power supply with their own plug. Adapters, in fact, interposing themselves between the safety system of an implant and the implant itself could expose patients to a high electrical risk.

Types of adapters

Currently, the types of adapters used in Italy are different and we can distinguish them in:

  • Adapter with a single plug and a single socket
  • Double adaptor: with one plug and two sockets
  • Multiple adaptor: with one plug and several sockets

These can vary according to the plug:

  • 10 A or 16 A three-pin comb plug (called S11 and S17 respectively):
It has 3 plugs into which the earth, neutral and phase cables meet.
  • 2-pin comb plug (designated S10 and S16):
With 2 plugs where neutral cable and phase meet.
  • 16 Amp "Schuko" plug (called S30, S31 or S32):
Also known as a German plug, the earth pin is replaced by two metallic foils where present. The plug has two pins where the neutral and phase wires meet.

In addition, in Italy, it is possible to find adapters for all the sockets in other countries of the world on the market without too much difficulty.

Some of the most common adapters are, for example, those for American sockets (type A and type B) or British sockets, which accommodate plugs composed of two parallel blades, but there are many others, each with different dimensions and characteristics.

Whichever type of adapter you choose, you should ensure that it complies with all safety standards.

If the adapters are damaged or of poor quality, they can lead to dangerous situations such as overloads, short circuits or, in the worst case, fires.
