Dupont Terminal Ratchet Crimper is a professional compression ratchet insulated modular terminal pin tool for 2.54mm 3.96mm 28-18 AWG (0.1-1.0mm²) connectors with wire electrode dies .
Apply to non-insulated boards and sockets.
Specific:
- The components of the crimping tool are made of special steel.
- Designed according to human factors engineering, it can save 50% energy when crimping.
- Precise set of crimp dies and integral lock with self-release. The mechanism ensures a high quality crimp effect after repeated crimping.
- Accurate adjustment before ex-factory delivery.
- Thanks to the grip position of the handle, the light and compact structure and the handle design ensure a perfect crimp effect.
Parameters:
- Capacity: 0.1-1.0mm², for 2.54mm 3.96mm KF2510 connector
- AWG: 28-18 AWG
- Length: 19cm / 7.5in
- Weight: 0.37kg / 0.8lbs
Operation details:
- If you are right handed, hold the instrument with your left hand with the writing visible and facing you, but upside down.
- Position the connector in one of the three lower slots, depending on the wire section.
- Caliber no. 22 works fine in the bottom center slot.
- The # 18 gauge works well in the innermost part of the lower slots.
- The connector must be positioned so that the “wings” are facing downwards.
- The connector should be positioned with the rear end flush with the tool and the front end of the connector facing out.
- Close the tool slightly until the ratchet engages and grasps the connector. For heavier cables (e.g. # 18), you can choose to insert the cable into the connector before inserting the connector into the tool.
- Use a separate wire stripper to strip approximately 3/16 "to 1/4" of wire and insert it into the connector. If you have a soft touch, you may simply feel the wire's unstained plastic stop when you insert it into the connector.
In any case, do not insert the wire too far into the connector.
- Push the ratchet as far as it will go. It will open after this step and the connector should have been properly crimped onto the wire.
- The larger outer wings should be folded into a crease on the insulated part of the wire, while the smaller inner wings should be crimped onto the bare wire.
If you are unsure of the electrical quality of your crimp, you can add a small amount of solder to the wire crimp. Not too much or the connector does not fit into the connector housing.
